As of December 15, 2023, all federally regulated employers must provide, free of charge, menstrual products to their employees. This will include clean and hygienic menstrual pads and tampons to be placed in any room containing a toilet or urinal. There must also be a covered disposal container within each single use toilet-washroom and in each individual stall of a multi-toilet washroom.

This requirement does not apply only to female washrooms. Any employer provided washroom must comply with these rules.

Should the company not be able to reasonably provide such products in every toilet room, it must provide the same in another part of the workplace which is accessible by all employees at all times, and further provide a reasonable degree of privacy.
